Greenery is the PANTONE Color of the Year 2017

The Pantone Color Institute just announced the Color of the Year 2017: Greenery (PANTONE 15-0343).

Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.

Since 2000, the company has chosen a color every year to represent the current mood and cultural climate. The decision is made based on common sense rather than some scientific research, and color this year is meant to represent “new beginnings”.

Given how terrible 2016 has been and the inauguration of Trump’s presidency come January, the institute’s choice couldn’t feel more appropriate.
